Light stands, bleachers, vendors, bands, fitness classes, PA announcer, professional officials and 200 bales of straw will transform the Depot District into a unique, European-style cycling, shopping and spectator event.

This is an officially ABR sanctioned race with crash barriers, professional timing,
officials, announcer and finish line camera.   The prize list is guaranteed thanks to our sponsors. Cash and merchandise premiums awarded for each race. Registration opens one hour prior to start of each race, and closes 15 minutes prior to posted start time.The closed-circuit course will loop around Richmond’s beautiful Historic Depot District.  This charming retail and restaurant area will take on a street fair atmosphere with live music, food/health/wellness vendors plus an attempt for the world's largest outdoor stationary cycling class.

The $5,000 cash purse will draw regional competitors and provide exciting action for spectators.

This year’s Depot District Criterium estimates evening crowds in excess of 5000 people in a very concentrated area around the cycling course and Depot District area. Due to the expected crowds and street closures associated with this year’s event,we are asking all registered and interested riders/teams to please read and understand the important race information noted below.

It is important that you plan accordingly for delays in parking and pre-race needs when planning your arrival at this year’s event. On street parking is available in several areas surrounding the course, or follow posted signs to other free public and private lots available. PLAN ON ARRIVING AT LEAST 1-1/2 HOURS AHEAD OF YOUR RACE TIME IN ANTICIPATION OF DELAYS WITH TRAFFIC AND PARKING.

1. Online registration will close Thursday, September 3, at 8:00 p.m. Walk-up accepted.
2. Preregistered teams of five or more per category will be provided preferential start locations according to registration date.
3. All riders who preregister by September 3rd, will receive a complimentary race-day participant bag.
4. CALL UPS: All former and current National and State Champions for road and track will receive discretionary call ups to the front prior to the start of the Pro 1-2 race. Any other rider wishing consideration for a call up should contact info@rocketshipsports.com with a request.
5. Race registration in person will be available at 3:00 pm. on the day of the event at the location designated on the course map for the bike race until 30 minutes prior to your scheduled event (no exceptions).
6. Race-day registration is available with an additional $10 day-of registration fee. Save and pre-register.
7. All teams and riders pre-registered will have access to the designated team area located at B & F Plastics on the West end of the course. Restroom and shower facilities are available.  We ask that all riders and teams rideshare to this area if possible. Teams will be provided designated space for trailers/tents and any support vehicles. Please contact race organizers no later than the close of preregistration on September 3 to receive your team’s entry pass for this area. Access is limited and will be available at 2:00 p.m. on race day.
8. All riders will be required to stage at least 15 minutes prior to their designated event under the bridge.
9. Restrooms will be provided at staging area.
10. All kids must be registered and accompanied by an adult, and everyone must wear helmets! Participants under 18 must have a parent sign release form.

Day of registration is $10 extra, except for second race entry.

All ABR racing rules apply. Helmets must be worn at all times, and chief official reserves the right to combine fields and shorten distances based on rider turnout, weather, or time issues. Liability release must be completed for all participants prior to packet pick up.
